SweeTango Apple Availability

A co-worker recently visited a local orchard (near St. Cloud MN) and was raving about an apple I've never heard of. I did some searches and it seems it's a recent issue by the U of MN.
" Introduced in 2009, SweeTango combines the best qualities of the Honeycrisp and Zestar varieties."

Was wondering if anyone knows where to get these trees?

SweeTango is still under "Managed Variety" Patent by the University of Minnesota. You must be licensed to grow trees of that variety.

You can find more info on the "SweeTango Licensing" page.

Here is a link that might be useful: University of Minnesota SweeTango licensing page

They were 3.29 at my local supermarket. Right next to some nice local apples for a buck and some change. Macs, macoun, cortlands, honeycrisps.

I don't care for the Sweet Tango I've gotten here. I think I preferred the Zestar. I'll have to try them again from another source.

woodrax; thx for the link. Since I am in MN I may be able to get trees. I wrote them and I'll see what happens.
