i have read on forums here that OHxF 333 doesn't yield very well on pear trees. does this apply everywhere in the us? 333 was the least vigorous rootstock i could find for Seckel and Comice.

I plan on getting some for next year. I've heard that the fruit is little smaller. As far as quantity, I think any pear tree can produce more than anyone can handle for personal use. Will you be supplying a large number of people?

I was just reading in a propagation book about some scions affecting the vigor of root stocks. It said if the scion is a particularly vigorous variety, that could make the root stock grow more than normal. I'm not sure if this will happen in your situation though. Brady

Its been fine for me -- very productive, no fruit size issues that I noticed. I have heard quite a few reports from hotter places that it doesn't do well, so I may be toward the southern end of where it is viable. Scott
