I don't think so; see the below. I have an applicator's permit and even with that it's a pain; Spinosad and horticultural oil are a lot less headache. For borers, painting the trunks with a mix of water, latex paint, drywall mud, and water has been the most effective.

Thanks Applenut! I was asking because Scott suggested it in the post on borers. I've been using triazicide for borers and it has worked quite well. I'm always looking for a better product. (sometimes there isn't one) Mrs. G

Here's some research about the efficacy of borer control of various products including white latex paint. It is based on controlling borers attacking apples, not peaches, but I would expect to get similar results protecting peaches as apples as the insects are similar. For apples, paint works bout as well as anything according to this study.

I have been using latex paint for peach borers and it reduced infestation by about 50%. I still had to dig out a lot of worms this spring. Scott

Scott, I understand using latex paint. I just have trouble looking at white trunks on beautiful fruit trees. Mrs. G

Lorsban is the best, I think. With it I only had to dig out about 2 worms from my nursery all year and a single annual spray does the trick.
