Core break down or discoloration of Korea Giant Pear (Asian Pear

Korean Giant is among the favorite in my Asian pear varieties. Its white flesh is crispy and extremely sweet. Pick up season can start as early as middle September. The later you pick the juicier you will get. So some I picked up late in mid of Oct. and they taste great. I put them in refrigerator. But within a week some of them developed discoloration of flesh. The taste also changed a little depending how dark it is (still edible). I suspect that the refrigeration may be the problem. Maybe best left in the open. Anyone has the experience?

Thanks.

I don't have experience with that type of pear but I have left some of my pears on the tree a little bit to long and had the flesh discolor. I'm not sure if that's what you experienced or not. Clapps favorite for example turn brown around the core first.
