Peach tree

My peach tree has been growing since May. When I got it, it was a foot long. First question When will all the leaves fall off and when? Temperature has been upper 50 and lower 60. I live in zone 9 South Carolina. When should I bring it in. Do I continue to water it thru out the winter? Can I keep it in the same pot another year, since this is the first year?

Want to maintain control of height since it is in a container, and keep good shape, when can I prune it back.

Leaves will fall off when they're ready. Don't bring it inside it needs chilling to flower and leaf out next yr. You don't need to prune this yr and probably not much next yr. It won't get too big in a pot.

What size pot is it in now? I repotted peach/nectarine every 4 yrs or so.

I'd set it in the shade outside given your zone. You want as much chilling as possible. If outside you won't need to water after leaf fall. Rain will be enough over winter.

I'm not sure when the leaves will start to fall off your Peach tree.Probably towards the end of this month or November. They will start to change color.Don't pull them off,let them naturally go.
By bringing it in,does that mean in a warm environment, inside the house?Don't do that. The plant needs a certain amount of temperature under 45F(chill hours).I don't know the variety of your Peach, but they can take between 600-1000 chill hours.
The tree can be brought into an unheated garage or shed if it gets too far below freezing for a long time, but in SC,that doesn't seem likely.
Yes,keep the soil moist through the Winter. When Spring comes,it will help to have the plant under something like a carport during rainy periods. This will help prevent Peach Leaf Curl. After the leaves start growing, the danger is past.
I can't see the size of your container in the photo. Brady
