Plant Blueberries in Fall

I live in the DC metro area and want to plant some blueberry plants. I know fall is a good time to plant some perennial plants, but I wasn't sure if I could plant blueberries now or if I should wait for spring. I know they have a shallow root system, so maybe the frost would be harmful to a young plant, but I wasn't sure. I have a bed ready for them and would love to get them in the ground, but don't want to set them up for failure.

RE: Plant Blueberries in Fall

Up north I always liked to plant BB in the very early spring. Down here in Florida late fall is best. You are in 7a right? I would think now would be ok. Just mulch the plants well and you should be good.
