You can view the reviews of nearly any nursery by googling: name of the nursery + scoop So: burgess scoop Click on the Dave's Garden link You will see Burgess has a very unfavorable rating. I think it very wise to order your peach tree elsewhere. You usually get what you pay for in this business.

I ordered from Burgess years ago and some great trees came from there but also my black currants that were actually reds came from there as well. Some trees rootstock was alive on arrival but the good fruiting part of the tree was dead. I have grapes from there that have been wonderful. Some other nurseries I currently deal with I have not had those same problems. If burgess had something I wanted that was offered no other place I would order it but I would be aware going into it my black currants might wind up being red. I should mention I ate those red currants for years and they were very tasty but sometimes I just go with the flow.

Guy I know, less than 30 minutes from their mailing address, got a dead apricot around June. Complained about it taking a month, "that's policy" (no it's not, they're probably just an order house like when many seed companies were through Foster & Gallager, policy is to lie). Got his replacement, it was also dead. If either tree had been shipped alive it would've died in shipping or most likely died after planting getting them in that late here.
