| I am almost embarrassed to ask but sometimes I see the same named product with different suffixes like WP50, WP70, WDG, TC, SC, etc. What exactly do they differentiate? I'll take the barbs.... Mike |

| Mes, my first thought when I saw your list was "I know what WD 40 is." As for the others, no idea. Now I'm curious too. I see they are appended to different chemicals, and I imagine they mean things like "Wettable Powder", but derned if I know. |
|
| WP stands for Wettable Powder. WDG or WG stands for Water Dispersible Granule SC stands for Suspension Concentrate SG stands for Soluble Granule EC stands for Emulsifiable Concentrate SL stands for Soluble Liquid DF stands for Dry Flowable The numbers you reference (WP50 or WP70) probably have to do with the amount of active ingredient (50% or 70%) in the Wettable Powder. |

| What about TC? I've never seen that one before. WP and DF must make up at least 90% of the fungicide and insecticides available from what I've seen, at least in so far as fruit tree sprays are concerned. |
|
| I'm only guessing but maybe toxic concentration. I often see it on fertilizer bottles and asked a nursery person and she said it means toxic concentration. |
|
| I've not seen TC either, but according to the link below, TC stands for Technical Material. Apparently Technical Materials have the active ingredient in the pesticide, along with some small quantities of by-products from the manufacturing process. Evidently Malathion is sometimes formulated as Technical Material. |

| Mes! Great question! Olpea, thanks for the answers! Excellent. I've not seen these abbreviations since I do not use commercial chemicals. (or are they for both?) thanks again, Mrs. G |

| Olpea.... Thanx... As always the worth of this forum proves itself over and over Mike |

| Mes, thanks for asking. Olpea, thanks for answering. I have not come across any but WP. Your answer will come in very handy for me. Mrs., They are used with organic stuff, too. My Surround bag has Surround WP, in very large print, on the bag. |
