| Today I drove up the home of TV Munson, of grape and persimmon fame. I was hoping to find old neglected persimmon orchards, perhaps with forgotten varieties.
I waked around his home ( called Venita), drove down Munson strret, and walked through Munson park. Alas, nary a persimmon did I find. I did see a few grapevines, figs, pears, and peaches in the area. A local university has a vineyard which they're populating with TV's grapes. It's a few miles away, maybe when it's open I can tour that. |
