TWM, all Pluots and Plumcots leaves are plum like. Yours leaf is apricot like. I am not sure if the Santa Rosa plum pollen ever crossed. Even my Spring Satin plumcot leaves are plum like.

Pluots have very few apricot genes in them so they are not a good standard. I don't know what % apricot Spring Satin is but I think its 1/4th or less. Weinberger/Hesse and Shekar Pareh are plum-apricot hybrids which have leaves more like apricot than plum. Scott

"TWM, all Pluots and Plumcots leaves are plum like. Yours leaf is apricot like. I am not sure if the Santa Rosa plum pollen ever crossed. Even my Spring Satin plumcot leaves are plum like." I do believe that the seedling is a hybrid, the seed parent is a Santa Rosa plum and the pollen parent is a Moorpark apricot.

Its certainly less likely to confuse the seed parent than the pollen donor. Itheweatherman is saying that a plum was harvested and its seed planted resulting in what you see is a tree that is growing with apricot style leaves. That's in keeping with the assertion that the plum flower was fertilized by pollen from an apricot to produce a plum with a seed containing half its genes from an apricot.

Do you think any of these hybrids would survive in central Minnesota? I have 8 varieties of plums in my orchard, but no apricots.
