| Hello, I have a 2 foot by 15 foot wide space in between my driveway and house and would like to espalier a semi-dwarf asian pear or two there. I was thinking of buying smaller bareroot trees and then slowly start training them. However, I just purchased a 6 foot tall asian pear from a local nursery a few months ago that only had short branches coming off of the main trunk that were all still very pliable. Could I buy a tree this size, top it to the height of my 2nd tier, and then choose 2 sets of branches to start my 2 tiered espalier?
Thanks! |

| I believe you can. I have not tried it but I thing that it should grow fine. |

| Thanks Charlie, I think I'm going to go that route. |
