Goji berry

Anyone have exp. with goji's? I have one in a five gallon pot that i need to tranplant. My question is; would it be better in a bigger pot or in the ground. I would perfer putting in the ground but the water table gets very high in winter. It drains out in spring. I have read they don't like wet feet and do well in arid climates. I have semi-coastal weather.
Also how deep of a root system will they grow? The full sun spot i have left is close to the septic drainage field.
Thanks.
