I have two goji berry plants that I planted in pots last fall and transplanted into a raised bed in the spring. See picture. The gojis are on each end with artichokes in between them. If the water table gets too high, suggest you try a raised bed which would in effect raise the water table. In the bottom of the bed place some river rock and pieces of old wood. Then use compost and top soil mixture.

Pretty. Looks like they need some support to climb on, or is that bird net for the brrries? Is it best to wait till spring to transplant? Did you winter them outside in the pots?
I wil definately build the land up a foot or 2 and put some rock and chips at the bottom. I just wonder if i should bring it inside and wait till spring.

They are a thin vinney type of bush and can use some support. I am using plastic coated wire to guide them upward or they run their branches along the soil. This is my first year and I had lots of blooms, but no berries. Hoping for next year. The birds here in VA eat any king of fruit you grow, if left to their own devices. I did not winter them outside, but I believe that you can plant them directly into the soil if the soil is not frozen. I overwintered mine in pots in the house with good light. They grew about 1 foot in two months. If you leave your posts outside in very low temps., I believe the roots my freeze.

Mind root pieces was planted first June August there was fruit little over 1/2 pint by October very small amount in Oct. Nov. Shed-ed leaves twice third time coming now they fast plant.
