Will Blueberries Make It?

| Today a friend gave me a small blueberry plant that they never planted. It's been in the small pot they bought it in all summer. For whatever reason, they don't want it anymore. Now I'm not sure what exactly I should do with it. Should I bring it in and plant it in the spring or should I plant it outside now? If I plant it now, should I cover it w/ leaves or anything to insulate it? The leaves are still on, but they are all red and will probably drop soon. Any suggestions? I live in Central NJ. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

| Hopefully, it's acclimated to outdoor conditions (has been kept outside). If so, you should definitely plant it out. Do you know the variety? Some blueberries are hardy to very cold areas (zones 4 or 5) while others are much less hardy. |
