I thought I'd add a couple of peaches to my small orchard.
Could someone please recommend a good yellow cling free
variety for SC zone 8. Thanks

| Rayrose, I have 3 peach trees bought at Starkbros nursery. Giant white peach, alberta queen, and a saturn (donut shape peach). They all fruited about the third year. Starkbros have a big selection of peach trees, and they are very reliable. Excellent customer service. I have bougt fruit trees from them the last 15 yrs. Tony |

| I have 4 peach trees from Raintree nursery. 3 are genetic dwarf, Honey Babe, Sun Gold, and Bonanze (or is it Ponderosa? I always mix those 2 up). I also have tri-Lite which is a peach/plum hybrid, not sure if I would recommend that. By planting the genetic dwarfs, I got peaches when the trees were only about 18 inches tall (only a few peaches). The main problem was peach leaf curl, which is rampant here in the Pacific Northwest. I think I have that managed now with a spray/winter cover program that's easy due to the small size of the trees, under 6 foot tall for the 8 year old tree. |

| Hi, Ray! I would recommend the Redhaven. It is the most popular peach in America, and serves as the benchmark for ripening dates because it is so universal. It resists bacterial spot, tastes wonderful, and is versatile. Available in small/med/large rootstocks. Misterbaby. |

Ray, I would highly recomend La Feliciana. Very good peach and bred in the high heat, high humidity region of south Louisiana and I'll bet it would do great for you. Scape |
