 o
Source for Prunus Nigra Plum

Does anybody know where to buy a true prunus nigra plum, aka wild canadian plum (not Bounty, not Princess Kay)? I'd like to get one to help pollinate some hybrid american plums (Superior, Alderman, Toka, etc..). I bought one a few years ago from Forest Farm but the deer got to it badly. I'm coaxing it back to health but it is still tiny. They still sell them but they are $59.00. Also, can anyone confirm having Superior, Alderman or other hybrid plums pollenized without being near wild american (prunus americana) or wild canadian (prunus nigra) plums?

I'd go with americana first if you can't get nigra,..very similar.
