FL Prince? Price won't be a good name for a peach. Like you say if it does well south of you it should at least bloom nicely. No late freezes and your good to go.

I have Florda Prince (note--it's named Florda for some reason, NOT Florida) and I recently bought Florda King, which had its first crop this year. Both are some of my favorite peaches for any season, and definitely my favorite early peaches. Tangy and sweet. The Florda Prince was part of a 3 graft from Dave Wilson, but I cut out the Desert Gold (yuck) branch, and have left the May Pride branch (it's OK). The Prince was WAY more vigorous than the other two, so my advice to you is (1) to watch it for needing hard pruning. My other advice is (2) that you are going to have to strip all the leaves in November/December in order to get a good peach leaf curl spraying in, and also to give it some dormant rest, because here in Sacramento it starts leafing out in January. And (3) you MUST spray more often than you think you will need to, because both the Florda trees are the WORST for peach leaf curl of any peach I have. When I don't spray at least 3 times, my Prince will get oozing leaf curl abscesses in the bark (which it has powered through, but only with luck)

what did you mean by oozing, becuase twice i have removed a glob of sap? from the top of the tree but ccould not see any reason for it to be oozing
