I'm setting up my raspberry patch. I've purchased some raspberry plants. But I really like to try more varieties before I decide on what to keep. So I'll appreciate if some folks can share or trade the raspberry plants they have. Mature raspberry sends out runners and may have to be cut away. I do not have a lot to trade now. But will be happy to pay the postage and do future trade/share.

Check out penseberryfarm.com. You can get 8 raspberry plants with free shipping for $30. I recently ordered from there and the plants had really good root systems and are much less likely to arrive with diseases. When you figure you are going to spend at least $10 on shipping for 'free' plants, $20 isn't a lot to ensure that all of your gardening effort results in success.

I have what I believe is August Red everbearing Raspberry. I am not positive of the variety, since it was a gift, but has the appearance of the August Red. I can take some suckers in the spring (I may have one now, but I will have to check). I am not interested in planting more raspberry plants because I do not have room. What else can you trade?

I'd suggest just buying them. Raspberries are prone to a lot of viruses that will hinder production and can lead to patch decline. 4 or 5 plants grow FAST.
