I am in San Diego too. That is pretty common in the fall after a young fruit tree has been heat or drought stressed. Unfortunately the fruit will probably never ripen properly in the cool winter.

I was always jealous when visiting San Diego in the winter while living in the Midwest. I moved about 12 years ago and I am so glad that I did!

Please do not move to California, spread the word about our politics. :)

You shouldn't see out of whack blooming to that extent unless you've fertilized recently.
