What took me so long? I have always liked an apple pie made with a tart apple such as Granny Smith and heavy with cinnamon. Not knowing how I would like it I decided to take a shortcut and dice the fresh apple into a bowl and mix with cinnamon and sugar (actually used splenda). I proceeded to my recliner to watch my beloved Auburn Tigers takes on the Georgia Dogs. The game did not go so well for my tigers but the apple/cinnamon was wonderful. Am I the last person on earth to discover this simple and delicious snack?

A similar, and believe it or not even more simple, thing you might try that I enjoy is to simply core an apple-leaving the peeling on- and sit it in a cereal sized bowl. Fill the hollow area where the core was with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Put a 1/4 inch or so of water in the bowl and microwave for about 5-6 minutes. You can then spoon the apple goodness out from the peeling, or eat peeling and all. Thanks for reminding us why we do all this work! mmm

I'm so new to fruit growing that I'm always asking for advice instead of giving it. When it comes to EATING fruit, however, I'm quite the expert! :)
