Do raspberries grow in Florida?

I was wondering if raspberries will grow in Central Florida. I've got a couple of Blackberry plants going that I bought at Lowes, but have not seen raspberry plants and was wondering if they would grow here. If so, any idea where I could get some? That is my husbands favorite fruit!

Not really. But I have read of "Heritage" raspberries being grown there in odd manner as an annual, presumably planted in fall and harvested in spring (and dying or plowed in summer I suppose). In Zone 9b you might be able to grow the tropical black Mysore raspberry if you can find it from a hobbiest. You normally grow them from seeds. They are fun but lack the aroma of a northern raspberry.

On second thought, "DormanRed" raspberry would at least be worth a try there. Again, it is fun but don't expect the exact same flavor as a northern raspberry.

I'm zone 10 in California so this may not be helpful. However, I tried baba berry which I thought might make it - but it didn't. A Heritage is still alive from last year's planting, but seems to be struggling - ?? Have you tried boysenberry?. They grow very well here - might be worth a try in your zone. We really like them - no seeds either. Bejay
