Will Santa Rosa Pollinate Morris Plum?

Posted by shazaam NC/7 (My Page) on

I bought a Morris plum tree at my local Lowes store today, and I'm hoping that a Santa Rosa that I bought a few weeks ago will work as a pollinator. From what little I've found through Google searches, both are Japanese plums (hybrids?) and they bloom at about the same time (early to mid June). I know the Santa Rosa is self-fertile, but I also thought it might benefit from the Morris as well. Nonetheless, the few references I've seen to suitable Morris pollinators suggest Methley and Ozark Premier. Does anyone know if the Santa Rosa/Morris combo will work?

It should be fine. Santa Rosa is an excellent pollinator.
