Just wondering if anyone has grown these guys. Sometimes called flowering almond or double flowering plum. Was thinking of grafting to it or maybe seeing if it will pollinate my jap x american (toka) plum.

These are seen growing in interior Alaska landscapes. They attract many bees probably more than anything else I've seen. Unfortunately they will bloom later which will miss most the plum bloom. Blooms are not quite as hardy as plum but they are very close to the same. Also -they are not known to make crosses with plum either.

Grown around Edmontion (zone 3) quite a bit. Bloom great after a mild winter, but after a hard winter they only bloom below the snow line. Should do well for you in zone 5.
