If you have an un heated garage, your pomegranates will slowly going into dormant. Just make sure you keep the soil moist through out winter.

Not sure pomegranates really need chill hours. But yes an unheated garage (with sunlight) that is not allowed to fall below freezing will produce chill hours. Don't know if chill hours count until leaves are gone.

I feel like I might've read somewhere that although not necessary, the chill hours will help harden the bark.

My garage doesn't have sunlight. Will this pose a problem?

Without sunlight and cool garage, the leaves will turn yellow then the tree will go into dormant. Just keep the soil moist until spring.

Yes, you are right Tony. I wasn't thinking. Sunlight is unnecessary if you are inducing/maintaining dormancy.
