Royal Rainier and Crimson Cherry trees

Hi, I live in Sacramento, CA. In our yard we have a Craigs Crimson Cherry tree (self-fruitful). We just purchased a Royal Rainier Cherry tree and we're told the Crimson cherry will pollinate the Royal Rainier. Will the Crimson cherry pollinate the Royal Rainier? Thank you.

I did a search using "Crimson cherry pollinate Royal Rainier? site:edu" -- no quotes -- but became tired of reading the fine print. (perhaps you can try it.) May not be in the lists if a newer variety.

You might call your county's Extension Service office to ask. They will know what works for your area.

Chances are high that CC will pollinate RR. In general all the self fruitful varieties are good pollinators for other cherries.
