| Is there a particular part of the tree that requires the cold? |
Follow-Up Postings:

| Yes, both fruit buds and leaf buds need chilling. Sometimes not the same amount as often leaf buds need more. This can result in flowers opening with very delayed leafing. Often only part of leaf buds push and over an extended time frame. The wood apparently needs no chilling. It moves water and nutrients whenever buds push. |
