pressed white pansies on scanner

These beautiful pressed pansies from last fall fell outta my cookbook, reminding me that spring is not too far away now.
I sprinkled them on the scanner and left the top open to get the dark background. I like how it looks like there is a shadow beneath them..even tho one was not really there.

This is pretty cool. I like the natural gradient in the background.

That is lovely! Frame it over a black background? I simply must copy it and hang it my black and white kitchen. Many thanks for the inspiration!

All of my work is done in this manner. I thought I'd share some of my images.

Hope you enjoy,

Those are beautiful. My ex-brother-in-law used to do flower photography with a black velvet background, and your scanned pics are as good or better than any of his.

Your white pansies are gorgeous. I've tried pressing them, but the petals always seem to brown/yellow a bit. Would love to know what you did right or I did wrong.

I enjoyed your work,

Kate

I've updated my website if you would like to see more examples of scanner photography. New work includes a focus on transparency with back lighting and other lighting techniques.
