I love the white lilac tree in our front garden and was so relieved when spring came and my husband and I found it had survived the Toronto ice storm (it had been bowed over from the ice earlier this year, and one of its branches had cracked off).

I illustrate children's books for a living and recently started experimenting doodles using plants. One of my goals is to get some people (especially children) looking at the world a little differently, to not take things for granted.

Art is everywhere, after all! You just need to look. :-)
