Here is another painting I am working on. It is being done on slate. I also paint on stones. Wish I had more time, I have been working almost seven days a week and haven't had much painting time. Hopefully I can spend some more time with my web friends during Thanksgiving vacation. : )

It's wonderful - I saw your earlier post with wolf/slate also - both excellent. What an interesting medium to work on the slate especially - do you have a good source for it nearby? Do you have some of your stone-paintings here as well for me to go see? Do you prefer to paint "animals" or do you paint botanicals as well? Is it acrylics you're using? How do you display your works on the slate? (Who said it wasn't question-time?!) :)

I use acrylics. I started out trying to paint lighthouses on stone, which came out beautiful! I keep trying different things. So far, scenerey, animals and sometimes botanicals I can paint. I am self taught so I am learning new stuff everytime I paint. I have pictures of various things. Paintings on stone, slate, round wooden cheesebox lids, gourds. So far I have painted lighthouses, a bear, wolves, a covered bridge, a cow, desert sunset and few more other things. I don't have a picture site, but have a few pics on discs. Right now I completed a lighthouse stone for a very nice person in Missouri-I live in Pa., an Americana clock being painted on a wooden cheesebox lid, and need to paint a dog(lab) for a friend. The list goes on, but I have been working so much o.t. I can't fit it all in, lol. I will post a pic of one of my lighthouse clocks today. The American one is really nice too! Will get a pic when it is done. There is a lot of slate in Pa. Not hard to get. Have a Great Day!!!!
