Thank you both! No, I haven't gotten any colored pencils yet. I'd just be happy with a good quality pencil! :o] Thanks again Heidi |

| If you decide to start using colored pencils, I recommend Prismacolor. They are worth the money. It would be a shame to spend time on a drawing and not get good rich colors. I'm fussy about paper too. I prefer plate finish, but any 2-ply or higher with a smooth finish will give nice results. The papers with more texture give a sketchy look. That's ok if you are seeking that, but if you are trying to get a more refined look, the smoother papers help. We are waiting ..... :) |

| I agree perianthal. Prismacolors are worth the money, but the best thing to do is use as little weight as possible, regardless of the pencil. Not to derail too much, but on my forest work a few posts down I was using little more than the weight of the pencil. It took weeks, but the time you take will pay off in the end. I have even used crayola pencils with newspaper underneath my paper to soften the edges. |

| Yes, thats a great sketch. You might want to try watercolour pencils to add colour to your sketchs. I'f your interested in watercolour pencils. I like the Rexel Cumberland series. |
