I LOVE your plant combinations! Truly inspiring, especially the varigated iris (I think that's what it was) and the burgundy leafed plants with it.

picture #3, right side, low growing bush...looks like one of those light greenish-grey soft feeling things... is that what it is and what's it called?

Yes ann there is variagated tall bearded iris
marryanne- that is called artemisia 'silvermound' and it is a delight to touch- soft as silk, and a drought tolerant perennial for full sun:) Walmart carries them in early spring. Allow 4 ft across- that's how big some of mine like that one get.

i've seen them on lawns and i've felt them - just never purchased one. time to keep my eye out for it.
