Very nice pics and plants. You must get all sorts of bee's and butterflies.

Thanks.

And, yes, the bees and butterflies do like the JB. But, what they really go crazy over around here is Mexican sage and Red salvia when it comes on in the late summer and fall. Its a veritable invasion of butterflies then.

RE: Jupiter's Beard

I'm new at growing the Jupiter's Beard and was wondering what anyone would suggest as far as pruning...I understand that deadheading is recommended during the summer, but what do I do in the fall afterwards?
Thanks!

RE: Jupiter's Beard

Hi Peg, all I know about is mine. I just prune off the top flower stalks when they are done. In the fall I do nothing until the freeze kills it. Then I add it to the compost pile. It comes back from seed mostly if not entirely? every year.

Sorry dfw, I can't say. I got mine at a place up here called Canyon's Edge Nursery. They specialize in indigenous plants.

You might ask that question on the Texas Garden forum. Lots of helpful people over there.
