Very nice! Are they a type of pansy? Looks like they're growing all over the place in the background ~ Great pic! :) |

I don't know, they must be in the pansy family. They are all over our flowerbed, we just love them.

Joan, I checked the hortiplex & they are a type of wild pansy, I also looked around the web & found pink ones along with purple/yellow ones but your blue/voilet ones are gorgeous. Do you plant them each year or do they come back by themselves? If you plant them where do you buy the seeds? I wonder if they can survive down here in FL... hmmmmmmmmm......

Nope, they just keep coming back. We don't know where we got them or how.

very nice joan...flowers and the photo. i like how you give the camera credit as well :) i can't grow them, wish i could, but as much as i like them, they must feel the opposite about me because they just won't cooperate. thanks for sharing. happy blooms, maryanne

They're called viola's and will grow just about anywhere. They love cool weather so will go dormant when the temps are in the 90's, but return in the fall. I'd imagine they will grow in Florida, too. You can purchase them as perennials from places like Bluestone but they're really annuals that reseed all over the place :-)
