another nice corner -- once I divide and transplant

I probably shouldn't be showing anyone this because it makes me look like a hosta abuser, but I wanted people to see my Cimicifuga ('Hillside Black Beauty') and how nice it is with the big, sturdy leaves of hostas.

These NOID hostas were planted smack up against the house in hard clay soil (previous owner) and produced sad, dreadful-looking little clumps from year to year. Early Spring of last year I moved them to this well-amended area with nice, loose, mounded soil and mulch, and they've literally quadrupled in size. I had no idea they'd end up being so big (and happy!).

(After previewing the image, I realize it has come out smaller than I expected, even though it's the same file size as the 'Blue Lustre' iris I showed earlier. Sorry about that. If you look really hard, you can see the Cimicifuga in the lower right corner -- the frilly deep purple plant.)
