Big Japanese Lily

HereÂs one that flowered last month. It was labeled "saku yuri" (suku means "blossom" and yuri "lily"), but I have no other information about it. It seems closely related to L. auratum (gold band lily), also known as yama yuri (mountain lily) in Japanese, but it has wider flower segments and doesnÂt have the spotting of that species. It is a big flower.

HereÂs a shot with my old wrinkled hand to give you an idea of its size.

L. lancifolium, the tiger lily, is just coming on strong here everywhere. I will get some nice shots soon and post those as well. Enjoy. PF
