Help!!! I'm a beginner and I need some expertise...

Hi Everyone...I need help! I love looking at plants, but I have never actually planted or grown anything but bamboo - my dog could grow a bamboo plant. My boyfriend and I just finished resurfacing our pool deck and we left some areas so that I could possibly put some nice plants/flowers. The sun hits these areas all day, so one's that can endure heat and will bloom all year, or that I don't have to replant...

I would probably post in the 'Landscape Design' forum, Lotsa of suggestions and opinions to help you get going and then since you want some thing growing year round 'Perennial Forum' maybe useful as well. I could suggest some things but everyone likes different things, so I wouldn't know where to begin, sorry...But I hope this helps!
