Rudbeckia in summer

I always thought of this as a fall-bloomer, but apparently not. The stuff is taking over my yard! I have huge stands of this that grow larger by the minute, should have chosen something other than 'Goldsturm' I guess. Cheery, at least.

Love it!!!!! I'm struggling with a tiny patch of it in my garden now. Do you know if it reseeds itself or spread by underground runners?

Thanks, yardrat. This one spreads by runners. I bought two tiny little $1.50 pots of it about 3 years ago and didn't know what I was getting into. It's pretty, but a pest if you can't give it plenty of room. I dig out tons of it and give to friends every year (with fair warning to all). Good luck with yours, I don't think you can kill it. Looks great! I have lots and lots of it in our garden. I think I am going to have to dig some of it out though...it's starting to take over.

These (well, maybe not that variety) are all over in the ditches and state parks here now, they are SO pretty!
