Can you help identify this weed/plant???

This appeared in an area where I had planted grass seed. I have no idea what it is - a pale lavender-whitish flower bloomed and now prickly-like monkey balls are forming. The leaves are similar to a Sycamore tree, but I know I did not plant a Sycamore. If you can solve this mystery, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

it looks like a datura stramonium, common names are thorn apple or jimson weed, related to angel trumpets. Be careful if you have small children or pets, it is a poisonous plant.
