This years work

As summer comes to an end I thought I would post ups some photos of this years work. It is obviously still a work in progress, but for new construction I think it has come a long way.

In the 2 weeks leading up to April 6th, I cut the bed in the back of the house and put down 5 yrds of dirt.

By April 20th I had it planted, irrigated and finally mulched.

Here is a picture of it today (after a little reshaping)

Later in the summer I started building my fire pit.

It was finished on August 20th...

And here is the back bed today... (at the beginning of the summer there was nothing back here under 20' tall)

RE: This years work

Great job!! Your home is lovely and the work you have done to the outside is certainly enhancing its beauty. Thanks for sharing these before and after pictures and keep posting--I love to see the progression of a landscape over time. I especially love your fire pit and the woodsy area around it. Enjoy it as the cooler weather approaches.

I'm jealous of your little helper in the picture by the fire pit. My boys are teens now and WAAAY too busy to help in the garden. I miss those days when they would follow me around the yard hoping to "help".
