Yep, they are beautiful.
I live in central TX and we never see anything like that. Lovely!

Gorgeous! You make me want some. I've tried planting Bloodgood Japanese maples. Our alkaline soil, water and low humidities out here on the plains do not agree with them at all.

Does anyone know of any japanese maples that might do OK with alkaline soils? I have a semi-shady spot I'd love to put a couple in.

Nice piccies - I also like your labelling. I have one Japanese maple that i bought as a small seedling. They cost an arm and a leg normally and there was no way I could buy a decent sized tree. So i bought a small seedling from a stall of one of the specialist nurseries. They go well with the Meconopsis, primulas and ferns that I grow.

very nice, kate.
the fall colors are really beautiful, moreso than what we get here, even from maples.
i grow 'ukigumo' and 'seiryu' but neither compare well to your specimens.
these are some of my favorite plants.

OooEee, I now think I must get some of these for my garden! But WHERE to put them?! Yikes! Another friend has a whole collection too & I am drooling! What beautiful colors!

Nice 1st time pix!
