Lavender Distilling for its oil

What do I need to make a distiller(sp?)for getting the oil out of lavender?
Or where do I purchase one?
Is it worth it to makeone instead of buying ?
Are there any regulations/standards where permits are needed?
My neighbor is trying to get me to go into the lavender oil trade, so can anyone guide me along this path?

| Okay... essential oil distilling is kind of expensive unless you do it on a large scale... I am thinking $200-400 for the still and then you need like an acre of lavender to make maybe a quart. I'd say, after doing my own research, that it is cheaper to just buy it. |
