Herbs to ease diet transitions?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could tell me which herbs help the most to ease intestinal upset when changing ones diet? And the best way to ingest them. I've begun taking a flaxseed oil supplement, and wow.. I won't go too in depth here, but things are really moving lets say, along with some cramping. Anyway, I'm also going to begin some changes in my diet, eating more veggies and less processed, and starchy foods, and phasing out the dairy all together ( I gave up milk years ago, but still eat cheese and other dairy on occation). So if anyone can advise me I'd appriciate it.

For radical dietary changes, especially to help digest fats, Michael Moore advises using Iris versicolor or Iris missouriensis (5-20 drops of tincture, 3 times a day, use with caution). His herbal manuals (quite technical) are available on his website, www.swsbm.com.
