| Hello to everyone here today. I was curious about lavender water. To create a batch you need the flowers or the greenery? All I have grown is the greenery and it smells fantastic. Oh and, Why do some recipes call for alcohol?
Thanks for your time.

| The best and purest perfume, and the medicinal properties, come from the flowers, but if you're desperate, use the leaves. Alcohol is a preservative. If you use just water, it should be discarded after 24 hours if being used internally. In other words, it goes off unless you use alcohol. |
