Has anyone made mullein torches? If so, how did you do it?
I always thought that was just a term for the way the plant looked, not a real thing... kinda a waste of good mullein.
You soak the seed head in melted tallow or a vegetable oil, then light it.
They are smoky, stinky, and drip hot falming bits onto your hand ... not a whole lot of fun.
we summer in NH & here they make candles out of the mullein. they smell wonderful especially when different fragrances are added to the wax mixture.
{{gwi:61942}}This years monster mullein!
