So I cannot find the study, but remember you posting a study about mice being forcefed with echinacea or saltwater, then injected with sheepsblood to test for immunomodulatory effect. It occured to me that that is a horrible controll. When every you are forcefeeding a small and fragile animal you have a high probability of doing some damage and introducing foreign tissue into the body, thus inciting an immune system responce. The proper way to controll would be to force feed with another plant based mixture, maybe ground up sunflower stalks or soyplants or something. Also it represents extra caloric and vitamin intake, which could matter if the mice had a bad diet.

What were you two discussing exactly (I must have missed out on that one)? If the choice is between taking Echinacea and getting injected with sheep's blood, I opt for the Echinacea. :)

Well, it would seem that I am the only one who remembers this.
