tasteless rosa rugosa hips

| I just harvested my rosa rugosa hips for the first time. It was after several frosts and a hard freeze. They were deep orange, and felt hard. They had very little taste. Does anyone know why this would happen?? Thanks! |

| Jillrob... this might be answered in the HERBS forum... but I have some thoughts...did you fertilize? Too much nitrogen and less of phosphorus and potassium will lead to more growth and less flowering/fruiting. Weather could have a factor... too much water? OR maybe just because it is a baby? Those are some guesses.... |
