| The roots were used for kidney and bladder ailments by Native Americans. Also used for gonorhea. |

| Apparently it is effective fresh or dried. It would also seem that Liatris spicata The Dense Blazing Star is the one that was used primamrily, which should help with whomever looks in the literature. |
