The action of Damiana is via a mild irritation of the urethra. It's drank in teas a couple of hours earlier etc. but doesn't act on the blood flow.

Likely causes for impotence are tobacco due to decreased blood flow and damage to capillaries.. high blood pressure, diabetes and alcohol.

There are useful herbs but these are the health risks/factors that would be addressed first.

If smoking is the culprit, check into herbs and feedbacks systems to reduce and stop smoking.

St. John's Wort supplement worked for my sex drive and depression but it was in very massive doses, and I wouldn't recommend it.

I've been looking to grow Yohimbe for a while. It looks promising and in the drug culture this plant is talked about a lot (among Morning Glory, Datura, etc) because it's more than a placebo.

I agree with every one on yohimbe and have taken it several times, but alos look into Tribulus Terrestris and Tongkat Ali these are both natural alternatives and help allot with erectile dysfunction. I'm confused though - who is Ed Medicine?

Curiously, it does help to simply get away to a new location. A statistically higher rate of babies are conceived on vacations, etc. Not that people are necessarily trying to conceive, but new surroundings can be exciting.

Also, a short separation (and short span of non-activity) can help re-spark interest. I remember that the father of my children always had high interest when I had been away for a week or so.

But I suspect that these more romantic slants of the topic do not address the question's intention. Nor are they herbal.

Here is more of a question that would be related: I've heard all the hype about viagra, and I've wondered if GINGKO wouldn't have a positive affect on virility, since it promotes capillary action? Does anyone have thoughts/ experience / know of any studies / done in this "vein?"
