I agree! We had quite a close knit community. I was house bound back then and it was my connection to the world. I made a few close friends with whom I have stayed in touch. But I do miss the conversation side where we would do our off-topic discussions. It was really hopping over there for a while. But as George Harrison said, "All things must pass."

I'm here, just too busy to answer individual EMs. I'm w/ an accounting firm & tax filing deadline was last week; we've been up to our eyeballs in alligators as they say.

Now I can breathe a bit, but have big quilting deadlines, so really just posting to GW.

The name of the other place was (I believe) That Garden Forum, tho' I think it's a PAYING site. A number of those folks (who went there) have come back, some under different handles (for instance Jeff Harris now uses the tag CactusMcHarris).

VERY nice EM from you, I recently printed it so I could read it during my commute & prepare to answer. Good to hear you & your wife are feeling reasonably well these days.

Thankfully most things are good w/ me. Going on 3 yrs. at the job now, lowish pay put REALLY good people & excellent company, quilting life goes on, couple of health problems, a big knee injury in end Jan. followed up PT, etc. It's been a PAIN but I'm walking well again, but w/ a cane, sigh!!!

I recall people were complaining about popups, and many vowed they'd leave---and they did.

Foxy and I still talk, via emails, 'remember FoxyKitten?' She joined the other forum, but I don't know if she's hanging there or busy doing other things.

I 'might' be able to find the other garden forum by searching old emails.

Karen, I'm so happy you found a job. Some time ago you were looking..Has it been 4-years? My God, times does go fast.

The other forum might charge? Wonder why? I signed up around the time it started, but prefer GW. The other forum didn't feel as 'homey,' and I didn't care for its format. But, hey, that's me. Perhaps it's changed.

Yes, it was iVillage that chased them away. Too bad, we had a nice group. Nothing stays the same though. I guess that is one certainty of life.

I email foxykitten once in a while too. She doesn't go to that forum anymore either. It kind of turned sour as it went sour for me too.

I pop in once in a while. I have been pretty busy this last year... too busy. I also mostly spend time on my African violets and other gesneriads. But I can't say that I visit that forum much anymore either. I really should come visit more often. How have you been?

I remember FoxyKitten, lovely woman, she & I emailed a while & she popped into my Quilt Blog as we're both quilters.

My problem is I don't have time for private EMs, so I tend to just post to GW & Quilt Forums. Feel badly to be a crappy correspondent, but am just too busy, still work full time & commute an hour each way, so it's a long day. By the time I get home & just want to space out, relax & play w/ the plants.
