Anyone know anything about telescopes?

DD & DH have asked for a computerized telescope for xmas. I know zip about telecopes. I want to try to keep it hidden and surprise them. I am willing to spend a few hundred to get a decent one. I have seen some that are in the thousands range. That is a bit much. Any info or brands to look for would be greatly appreciated. TIA,

Nice to 'see' ya, sorry to day I know nothing abt this topic. But, what abt checking out Consumer Reports on this, they'd be likely to lead you in the right direction & help protect your funds in an investment of this kind.
