Mymimi43,
I only have a fushia Christmas cactus, but if there's anything on my list that you're interested in I'd love to trade you for cuttings, even small ones, from your red and white christmas cacti.
(you might be interested in Cardinal Flower seeds, a great pond, bog, and garden flower)

Hi Tina
Sorry, I traded the whites last week. I would love to trade the reds but I don't know which plants they are. I have been looking for oranges that I like, so after Christmas I bought some mixed planters and a couple of individual plants. I am waiting on some more of the mixed planters to bloom so I can thin them out. Pam

Hi Pam, thank you for the thought. I'll make a mental note to post something near to the holidays. A good plan, as many folks will better know which of their cacti are which then!

and by that point, maybe I can trade you a yellow :)

Hi Tina
I will try to remember and post to this thread when they bloom. I would expect them to set bud any time now. I grow them in cool temperatures. You should consider changing your garden web settings so that folks can send you emails.

Hi Pam, thanks.
I changed my preferences to show my addy to members. It had alread been set up to allow the emails to be sent through this site, and then if I (or any given member) reply a person gets the email address, and I get theirs if they reply. Not sure if you knew that -- just click on the My Page for anyone (or their screen name), and click Send Me An Email right next to See My Trade List. Actually I was surprised that you posted a response here rather than doing it that way (I chanced on it, it doesn't notify anyone other than the person who started the thread).

I went with this way to reduce email address "robot harvesting" since they display the email addy as text not an image. So We'll if there's an increase in spam with this new setting. I may have to change it back later.

anyway :) ...Thanks so much!!!

..and so strange about them setting bud now. I see that you're in desert zone--must have something to do with it. didn't think they could be tricked to bloom at another time of the year (maybe it has as much to do with temps as day length? I had no idea.)

Just Wow! Amazing differences!
(thanks again)
